Default Your ATV excursions!

Hey you all,

I just wanted to hear some folks talk about
their ATV excursions. When you go for an ATV
outting is it a day trip, weekend (with camping
or hunting etc.?) trip, annual event like a vacation, just backyard
FUN, or trespassing (LOL) or all the above?

How many organize a ride party or do you alls
familys have wheelers and all ride?
-------------

I'll start for me, its mainly me and once in while my
wife gets to go (kid sitting by parents) and a party
of 4-7 more comprised of my two cousins and two
nephews and my good friend and his wife and maybe
a friend or two of his. These are usually all day trips,
we trailer and haul our Quads up the mountain to a
ORV permitted State Park. Other times we ride at a
friends house who has 26acres or woods, trail, stream
and mud. The other times, hunting property once a year
(about a week or less) and in-laws property a few times
11acres of field, woods and marsh. Thats it, cuz there is
no where to Ride around my neighborhood...8-)

We are only a few weeks into having the ATV's.
We have gone to a trail system. We are going this week up to where we will unload and take the wheelers up and back into the woods to go fishing. Also take some trails to some old mines.

So far it is just the wife and I, but we have many people that live in our neighborhood that have ATV's and I am sure we will get some outings going.

I go with anywhere from 2 - 15 on a ride. We have a half ways decent trail system, closest is about 12 miles away but is a converted rail bed which is boring. Closest decent place is about 40 miles away with more wooded trails with mud holes that connects to hundreds of miles of trails through mid & northern WI.

We go mostly on day trips. We usually ride on Sullivan County ATV trails in Claremont, NH as they have a pretty good trail system. Everything but soft sand; rocks, trees, streams, mud, waterholes, open trails, etc. We've had as many as 6 quads in our group and alot of times just my son and I. We've also hooked up with others we've met on the trail and had good times. We also use the quads for hauling out firewood in Barnard, VT where we have some land. If insurance ever comes down, we'll ride up there as there is a trail going through our "backyard". Occasionally we ride around on a friend's 11 acres up in Plainfield, NH.

The trails start 25ft from my driveway so 90% of my riding is spontaneous short rides by myself playing around seeing just how rough of conditions I can get my ATV can through and the rest is mostly with my 18yr old daughter except when the occasional friend wants to go. ----- Anyone want to go riding? drop me a message, I'm in West Farmington, ME.

Mainly 1 or 2 night camps with the wife and 2 kids riding 2-up. Mountain trips in the summer and desert trips in the winter. We try plan at least one 25 - 35+ mile loop per trip to really get out and away.

Usually it's just us, but once in a while others tag along.

Mostly days trips on our local trails with one of my son or daughter and friends. A lot of the guys I ride with do weekend camping/ATV excursions. I plan on joining in this year.

I also take the quad out on the lake ice fishing.
