08 400 ho oil

Default 08 400 ho oil

has anyone changed theirs yet and is there anything special i need to know?going to
change mine this weekend,after i read the manual.

If this is your first oil change on this machine, I'd let the dealer do it (if you trust them) cause this is the important one. Specify that they remove the screen and check for metal filings or chips.

have to agree with Mongrol on this one...I think it is best to let the dealer, (as long as they have good techs), change out the break-in fluids so they can do a thorough job and check for anything out of the ordinary! Small things can be caught now before they become major things!
I have always left this initial service to the pros...

thanks for the reply,my original mechanics were murdered at their shop,so i guess ill have to try the local shop

you can do it your self w/ no real big deal if you read the manual. imo.

thanks i have been a car mechanic for 20yrs,i think i can handle it,just got to read manual and see what i think about it

Default 08 400 ho oil

finally got time to change my oil,20 hrs on it,oil looked good,small amount of metal dust on magnet,screen had no shavings or metal,air filter looked good,but changed it, front diff and trans fluid looked good also,did notice it dosnt have a six mm allen head as manual says,but has a 13 mm bolt to drain oil

if its like my 500 you have both. the 6mm is located through the skid plate
