Default Check Engine Light

My check engine light goes on after riding it for a while, I'll shut it off, start it right back up and it will go back on after running for several minutes. The manual says it's a problem with the EFI don't ride serious engine damage can occur. Anyone ever seen this before?

Wanted to add that it runs great with the light on or off.

Disconnect battery for 30 seconds, hook back up,if check engine shows back up,take to dealer to hook up to computer, can be any thing from a short to sensor problems. check manual for help to show speedo codes(not always accurate)

They recalled '05 700 Sportsmans and MVs for the ECM. Maybe that's the problem.

did you check the codes to see what it says first? is the battery or hot light coming on as well or just the e. warning?

No codes just check engine. Anyhow I decide to start reseating the electrical connections and started with the one on the intake boot. Mine says Bosch on it. I unplugged it wiped it off, plugged it back in an all was good. Took it out for a 26 mile ride and it was good to go.
