Default 2008 Polaris Sportsman 800 X2 A Arm protection

Newbie here.

I am taking delivery of a 2008 800 X2 next week and would like to install A Arm protection and was wondering if anyone else has done this with their X2.

If so, what brand did you install and where did you purchase them?

Thanks- Mark

I haven't been able to find any other than stock for the rear. Fronts, you should be able to get the same as a regular Sportsman of the same year.

After doing some additional surfing I was able to find Ricochet A Arm protection kit specifically for the X2 model, both front and back @ $159.99 @ utahsportcycle.com

Seems the Sportsman X2 has a different part # than the one-up Sportsman.

Yes, order the ricochet. The cheapest price is at Click herewww.atvoutfitters.net
Give them the part # from the other web site.

Sounds like your getting the same machine I just got.

I had not given much thought to the A-arm guards, since it has some OEMs already on there, (plastic I know), just not sure if I need to upgrade to the alumiums or not . Has there been problems or history with the plastic OEMs letting stuff through?

Congrats on the X2, its an awsome machine. Post some pics when you get it, I would really like to see what it looks like wiht the richochet a-arm guards on there too.

Thanks Jeff,

I actually found a 10% discount code (atvmag25) in a Ricochet ad in the May issue of ATV magazine. I like the idea of ordering directly from Ricochet and it brings the price down to about the same as atvoutfitters, actually less for me since Ricochet has a lower shipping cost (at least for my area) for 2 sets of these.

I was actually considering ordering the complete frame & engine protection but it doesn't appear Ricochet offers one for the X2's extended chassis.

I just put a set of ricochets on my 07 500 EFI sportsman. They are quality parts and you will not be disappointed.

My brother and I both purchased one of these from the local dealer at the same time, kinda a package deal price. He already took delivery on his and mine is being prepped with the winch, front bumper/brushguard, rear light mod with switch and delivered this week.

I'm not placing much faith in the plastic guards and I want to get it armored up before venturing into our Wisconsin woods.

I like your upgraded tires & rims. What size tires and rims did you go with? I'm also considering an upgrade to larger tires with better tread and sidewall durability.
I'm considering the ITP Terracross R/T XD's since they have the 6 ply tread, 3 ply sidewall and an advertised extended life rubber compound.

Would love to see a pic or two. No matter, looks like the front could really use it. This has got to be right up there as one of my first mods. Along w/ the winch, worklight switch,... Love this site.
