the reason for me asking is because I want to know if anyone or just members are allowed. I E-mailed the club like 5 times to try to get some answers but no one responded.

I was thinking of joining the club to help fund projects but if no one can even respond to an E-mail then the club can't be a very good one!!!

To bad, they probably turn away alot of potential members due to their boring web site and not responding to E-mails.

I know Sullivan County ATV was going to go, but decided not to because there were not enough people going up from the Claremont, NH. I think you have to pay ahead of time so it means you have to find a group that is going and buy a ticket through them. I wish it wasn't so hard to go. It would be great if they just announced the day and said you could show up at the bottom of the mountain.

I remember the day I went up on a Honda motorcycle back in the 1980's...(Yeah, I'm old...) It was 95 degrees at the base and 51 degrees at the top with zero visability from fog and a 50 MPH wind. I had a full fairing on the bike and was scared Shi$%@##ss by the time were were back at the bottom. Havent been back since but have a question. Is it paved all the way up now? Back then, halfway up turned into a gravel path and being on a motorcycle, it spelled disaster with the wind....I shiver just remembering my fears......and my drawers still have a brown stain......;-)</end quote></div>

thats kinda of my freinds were feeling lol. i shouldnt laugh as i know its a real fear. there is still a few spots that were dirt road my buddy from work w/ the stretch harley was a little nervous on the sharp corners.

here is info on the mt. washington auto rd. from there web site.

ATVs on the Auto Road:
Individual ATV traffic is not allowed on the Mount Washington Auto Road. Due to the aggressive nature of the tires on these vehicles, the gravel portions of the Auto Road experience a much higher than normal maintenance need when ATVs are present. This basic fact, along with the unnecessarily aggressive operation of these vehicles by a small number of riders causes us to prohibit their use day to day.

We will continue to welcome well-organized ATV groups who have reserved with us in advance. Rides during regular operating hours as well as special evening rides preceded by a barbeque at the base of the Road are available. Group rides have a 35-vehicle minimum for day trips and a 30-vehicle minimum for evening trips. Call 603.466.3988 or email amy@mtwashingtonautoroad.com or mary@mtwashingtonautoroad.com for reservations.

OHRV Trail Bikes will not be permitted on the Auto Road unless they are registered for highway use.

ATV restrictions:
. The operator must have a valid driver's license with them.
. Only one person to an ATV unless it is factory designed for two people. No aftermarket add-on seats are allowed.
. Vehicles must travel single file.
. The vehicle must be operated on the normal Auto Road surface only. There are no ATV trails and no off-road terrain is available on Mount Washington.

Important note: To be in line with NH RSA 215-A concerning OHRV registrations, all ATVs must have a NH or VT registration. For more information about registration, click here for a NH OHRV FAQ page. For information about NH RSA 215-A, click here.
