Ecm module?,Is fan slow running(causing load on elec system),battery, charging system ok? What YEAR model? Could be under recall for ecm module replacement?

It's a 2004. The fan doesn't seem to be running slow, and the battery is also charging good. How can I find out about the ECM module recall replacement. Is there any way to test for a bad ECM.

Module recall was for later models (my list at work,Polaris website should show or other members may have) I have replace ecms not on the list simply because they fried (black finned module) WE HAD a Polaris supplied tester to check ecms, but had to return because of latest update that ALL models with black ecm (chinese) were to be replaced with USA built modules and harness kits with in model years specified! Have dealer look up your part # and see if it SUPERCEDES to different # (latest model) Hard to Diagnose over the internet, maybe some others have experienced same problem and may not be ECM problem! Good luck!

Found a service bulletin that had 2004.5 and vin number ranges. unfortunatley mine does not fall into the range. thanks for your help. I will look and see if mine is a black ecm (chinese). and then probably take it to a local dealership.

I took the darn thing to the dealer and they found that a previous owner had replaced the sparkplug wire with an automotive type wire and that is what was causing all my problems. total cost for hunting down a simple problem was about $300 and alot of my time. Maybe i would have been better off taking it to the dealer right away.
