Default 2002 Scrambler 500

Hi everyone I just purchased a 02 scrambler 500 and am looking to put larger mud lites on it. I am aware of the fact that the front tires are 1 inch bigger than the rear...how does this come into play when purchasing larger tires and what are my options as far as size goes. I was hoping to put 28's on the front and 27's on the back. Does anybody have any advise.

is it not possible or has anyone not been able to figure out the ratios between the front and rear drive on a scrambler so that you can put bigger tires on the back and gear accordingly so you don't have to put bigger tires on the front? could anyone tell me why this is not possible.
