No...Reverse override has no effect I even disconnected it to see if that helps. As soon as it gets warm the missing/backfiring/surging starts. Let it set for about 30 minutes and it will run fine until it gets warm again and then it acts up. The only part left I can think of that would be heat sensitive would be the trigger coil stator assembly. Any thoughts?????

 

you need to check for a air leak pos a seal or intake boot

 

I hope you have made sure it isn't the fuel itself after all that you have done.

 

Thanks, but no its fresh fuel after I drained and cleaned the tank.
New stator will be here Friday, fingers crossed.

Ive replaced two stators that acted similar, when they got warm, the machine would quit. They were older suzuki bikes but that cured them.

 

Put in the new stator today. No change. Just ordered a stick of dynamite.
I guess I'll go back to the beginning and start over. Its personal now.

 

did you ever ck for a air leak if you did you need to post it

 

Mine was not running well (weak spark) and would only start with pull starter not electric start and back fire once in a while.

I took off the cover and to my horror I find out the cover protects the $300 stator, pluse coil and pendix drive! It turned out that my pluse coil nexts to the fly wheel was rusty and had metal filings stuck to it, so I took it off and sanded the rust and filings off the pulse coils and the rust off the flywheel bump that actavates the pluse coil,now it runs like new.

As mentioned in earlier posts I have checked the intake boot, I also believe the air box is sealing fine and also as mentioned I have ckecked for all possible exhaust leaks. What other air leaks are you referring to?

My old stator and pickup coil were not too pretty either but I did clean them up before buying the new one. I wish it would have been that easy.
