Default no 4wd in forward or reverse

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction I have a 04 SP600 I have no 4wd in forward or reverse it lights up and says it working on the display and when the overide is pushed while in reverse it also says its working . I put it up on my motorcycle jack so all 4 wheels are off the ground and only the back wheels spin. Please correct me if iam wrong but should both front wheels be locked together if the cage is broken? I have turned both of mine while in the air and each one is free ,they turn seperatley. The battery is fully charged. I dont really have the $ to take this in to get fixed but I will if i have too Thanks in advance

i think you hit the nail on the head w/ the cage being the issue imo.

I drained the front diff and got just a very little water out of it. and no oil . I put the right polaris diff oil back in but still nothing, would it be possible that the magnets in there are dirty and it needs to be flushed real good it never quit working all at once for awhile i only had 4wd in forward, not in reverse, Then I had not ridden it for about 6 months and now I have no fwd in forward or reverse

Water and no oil. That sounds like toast. I would bet that all the plastic parts in the awd are all one peice now. Some of these plastic parts are not replaceable. And as for the water, the rollers are pitted and rusty and are seized up in that pile of melted plastic. I think that you are lucky because most of time its the revese effect.(wheels stay locked in) I will be the first to tell you that even if you do the work yourself it is going to cost you a pretty penny. New front end is around 900 dollars. Parts to rebuild if you can get all of them is around 300 dollars. 2 days of work too.

if you had to oil inthe front end, you have got some bad problems. i hate to say it but the front end needs to come apart. if the roller cage is bad then do a search on here and find a john deere replacement.
