Default scrambler 500 charging problem

i have a 2000 scrambler, the battery will not hold charge,it is a new battery, anyone know what the voltage should be at the battery with the quad running, and do the scramblers have a voltage regulator,i dont see one on mine,so i guess that could be the problem too,i dont even know where it is located at on the quad

Default scrambler 500 charging problem

check reg/rectifier wires at front of machine(behind radiator depending on model) has red,yellow,yellow/red,and brown wire. if not charging close to 14 volts see if any of these wires may have been pulled loose. Have had this happen several times. if all connected, then must get resistance specs on charging coil from stator wires, yellow and white/yellow( i think), if good, replace reg/rect. In my experience usually pulled wires or bad reg/rectifier. Good luck
