Default Zilla Trail tire

There is a lot of hot products going on lately from
the new releases of new Polaris Models to some
different products I see in the ATV mags. I took
special notice to as AD in ATV rider Mag, on the
trail version ZILLA tire. Its lugs look like the aggressive
Mud tire type that alot run in deep water and MUD, but the
tread pattern is abit different, 6-ply. Maybe its not
new but something that has been around and I just
happened to notice it?

Anyone running them on their Polaris Sportsmans? If so,
hows it compare to the MUD LITES and SWAMPLITES that
offer great MUD traction but still good all around trail tire
too.

Regards,

R'

Rt, you may want to pop on over the highlifters tire and wheel forum...there is a bit more discussion on the Zillas over there...I can say that after a lot of research, my last tire upgrade came down to the Swamplites and the Zillas. I went with the Swamplites because they had been around for a while and the Zillas were brand new at the time...look to be a really good mud tire with good trail manors!

I thought so too, but I saw this ad and its the Zilla Trail tire. I guess sorta like
that new Carlsie Mud Wolf, some newer products and I am not hearing much
on them from folks. -- My observations anyway?

I have the 28x14" on my sportsman 700. I love them, they trail well, wear nicely, and are outstanding in the mud. They are very light also. My 28's are lighter than the 26" Mudlites I almost bought. Check my profile for pics.

Okay thanks JK, I will check it out. Also, just from some look ups on the web here, I see where the
bigger Maxxis mud tire is the "MUDZILLA" a different tire, huge LUGS and mainly a big MUD tire. The
ZILLA is more their Trail tire that competes with the Mudlites and Swaplites etc. as for a good trail
tire and aggressive MUD qualities. Just checking out here who may have them and run them
compared to some of the mentioned. Since they have one of the best BIG MUD tires out there, figure
this ZILLA must be worth considered.

Thanks all,

R'

actually they are a tamed down version of the Mudzilla which is commonly regarded as one of the best all out mud tires you can buy but way to radical for any real trail use.
Maxxis designed the Zilla with a somewhat similar tread pattern to the Mudzilla for good mud performance but with little less agressive pattern and added center tread to improve trail ride and stability...this is also a much lighter tire then the Mudzilla and is in the same area as the Mudlites in weight!

Raptor Man Dan,

They look sweet man, how is the ride comfort? Do they grab too much on field? How do they do on hard pack?
Have you had the Mudlites or Swamps before? If so how do they compare?
