28" zillas on stock clutch setup?
I went to the polaris dealer today and he had a couple new 500's 700's and 800's with 28" zillas on them. I know they put them on there to improve the look of the bike to sell it, but I was wondering how this would affect performance, especially belt and clutch wear. I asked the dealer if he upgraded the clutch for these big tires and he looked at me like I was crazy.I've been contemplating going to a larger more aggresive tire on my bike, but i have been waiting to upgrade my clutch. Is the upgrade needed?

Absolutely. As you go up in tire diameter and traction, you need to lighten the weights in the primary and tighten up the secondary spring pressure (heavier spring). Modifications like bigger more aggressive tires create more resistance and the clutches needs to be recalibrated otherwise your motor won't pull the right rpm and your belt will be slipping like crazy.

Okay so say I am determined to go buy these Zillas (Ironic, I have a thread on these tires, LOL) and
I want the 28" as well. What exactly do I need to get to put into my clutch?
Could you tell me the product? (Dalton or something?) Are there instructions?
Could you tell me where to get them? And avg. price?
Much obliged!

A lot of people say to call to Rick Ritter at RCR. There are also clutch kits from EPI, Aaen, Dalton and others. If you don't have ckutch tools you can get cheap ones on eBay for half the price of good ones. Your dealer can probably install the kit for a little bit more than the cost of a good pair of front and rear clutch pullers. Years ago my dealer said they would install an EPI clutch kit for 1 hour of labor, but I decided not to get it. https://www.erlandsonperformance.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?
