Default 770 ranger fan not coming on

My 1985 POLARIS ranger , 700EFI, is overheating and the fan does, not run. Is the fan fused and if so where is it located, or is this a problem for the shop guys???

You need to disconnect the temp sending unit from the block of the engine to see if the fan is working. You say it is a 1985' 700 EFI??????? On my 2005' sportsman 700 EFI it is located on the block next to the dipstick on the left side. On the older models I believe that there are two pairs of wires coming from it. One to the overheat light and the other to the fan. If you unplug the temp sending unit with the key on or running then your fan should turn on. If not - your fan needs to be replaced. If it does turn on - then you probably need to replace the temp sending unit/sensor. It should unscrew from the block and is only around $30. I may not be right considering it's an 85(?) - but dont worry, if I'm wrong the pro's will let you know... Godd Luck..... Jeff
