Search you tube for a video, there is a guy that put out a oil change vid on a x2.

Make sure you use the polaris oil or the same wieght oil, anything less you risk blowing out your cam.

I didn't when I changed mine. I figure that every once in awhile I'll have the machine into the shop for some reason and I'll just have them do that part. I think that the most important thing is to replace the oil and filter with new.

I had read on here somewhere that someone didn't remove the screen after a few oil changes when when he finally did, there was nothing on the screen anyway.

That's just my opinion though and i'm sure some one will correct my thinking if I'm wrong.

Another lazy trick is start the ATV and let it run for 20 seconds or so and it will pump the additional cup of oil from the crankcase out the oil tank drain hole, insteat of removing the sumb drain plug.

No, you only prime if you disconnect oil line with the sceen connecter to the oil tank.

I removed the screen on my first oil change. I did it in case some kind of casting flash broke off in the first 25 hours. I don't plan on doing it again for awhile. Priming the pump was no big deal. I just followed the owners manual and it was simple.

Talk about mixed info. I tossed out the instructions out from the oil kit I bought from the dealer but i distinctly remember it saying I would need to buy a extra oil if the ATV is complettly drained of oil from oil Tank and sump.

The 2 quarts are just for the quick oil tank change alone.

If you watch the oil change video the man says when checking your oil that you do not screw the oil dipstick back in , but according to my 2008 owner's manual and the Polaris service manual that I bought they both say to reinstall the dipstick completely then remove to check oil level .
