My SP500 has the stock 6ply 25" Goodyear "P Tracker" but the front 25-8-12 tires are 75%worn out and the rears are only 5% worn at most.

I bought two front Mudlites 25-8-12 but they have taller 1- 1/8th lugs ,will this work with the stock rear tires?

I heard your suppose to have the same tire .dia front and back but the ATV runs perfect with the bald fronts with the healthy backs, which can no longer be the same .dia any longer also.

25" is the outside diameter, radius is 1/2 od so 12.5 ". In theory a 25 is a 25 but you will have some variance between brands. As for affecting your 4x4 I doubt that this small differance will have any effect. The back has to spin 20% faster than the front to engage, this may make it 22% where with the bald ones it may have been 18%.

I think he meant diameter.. maybe I'm wrong.

I know some tires run small and some large, for instance the Big Horns 25" is closer to 26"

I think the mudlites run small If I remember correctly.

well actually there is a big difference between brands as to tire diameter...
25' Swamplites run 26 1/4" in a 10" wideth and 26" in 8" wideth
25" Mudlites run right at or a touch over 24" depending on which model you go for...
25" Bear Claws run 24" if not a bit under...
25" Zillas run about 24 1/2"...
so if you like the way you quad runs on the worn fronts, you could really measure their diameter and buy tires that match them...
I guess I would try to stay with as close to the same diameter front/back as posible

The variance in diameter is USUALLY + or - 1" of the size they're supposed to be, depending on your tire pressure. I haven't measured many but think you need to check yours TLC. I wouldn't worry about it if they measure to within an inch of the same diameter. I really like the Tracker Ps and probably would have stayed with them or switched to Bighorns for dirt trails. But the geology of your area made it pretty rough a million years ago and I imagine you can really use mud tires.

Not sure if I should of bought the Mudlites XL with the 1-1/8th lug. Maybe I should of went with there more general use Mudlite AT's with the smaller 3/4" lug.

Two reason I did not change the rear tires was I have the odd ball 10" rims which makes tire selection limited and the Goodyear's are in almost new condition yet.

Polaris used the 10" rear wheels for a whole lot of years. That's what I had when I bought my MudRunners. They still make MudRunners, Rawhide Grips, and Tracker P Run-Flats in your size. If you Google "25x11x10 atv tires" you can find several other makes and models.
