Default o5 sportsman 400

I have a o5 sportsman 400. I have been having problems with the engine cutting out ( or missing) when It gets in a hard pull in mud or climbing a hill. I have a service manual but, as far as I can determine , there are no carb fuel adjustments. The spark plug is sooted up like it's burning to rich or not enough spark. Air filter is new & no restrictions in air flow. New spark plug same problem.. Any suggestions on what to look for / check ??

thanks,
ken

Thanks for the click me.

I typed in carb jet for polaris 400 & it didn't come up with any results. Any ideas ??

Find a different dealer. They don't know what they are talking about or they are lying to you. Either way, not a place I would want to deal with.

I found on the web site that a 05 sportsman 400 comes stock with a 172.5 main jet
If the 140 or the 145.5 is correct. Then, this would be alot smaller than the stock main jet.
I'am still looking around on the web to locate a jet kit

Hey, thanks for link. Weren't you the one having the same problems in the link ? Did the re jetting fix yours. If so, did you also have to change out the needle to match up with the smaller main jet.

Re-jetting solved it.
