02 SCRAMBLER --DOES NOT CHARGE. REGULATOR MELTED. WHAT CAUSED IT TO MELT? IF I INSTALL ANEW ONE WILL IT GET WRECKED TOO. CAN I TEST STATOR?
04 400 SPORTSMAN-- CUTS OUT 4600-5000 RPM DOES NOT STALL. WORKES FINE AT LOW SPEEDS, SOME TIMES IF YOU LET OFF AND THEN PUNCH THROTTLE
IT WILL BE FINE. CLEANED CARB--OK, REV LIMITER ?, CDI

Were you running the scrammy with a fried battery? If so, the regulator will be pumping voltage into the battery as hard as it can and eventually it will ruin the regulator. I just had to replace the the rectifier/regulator on my Arctic Cat because I was too lazy to put a new battery in. (Hey, it always cranked on the first pull!) I'm sure there is a test for stator output but i'm not that familiar with the Polaris' electrical system. Luckily I haven't had to do anything to my old trail boss. It just keeps on going, and going, and going........................
