Break in oil changes on 2008 Sportsman 90
#1
We bought our son a sportsman 90 a few months ago and its due for its break-in oil changes. This is our first ATV and so far it has been a pretty reliable machine. He really likes it. I would like to do the oil changes myself, and it doesn't seem like too complicated a job, but I want to make sure I'm pulling the right plugs and/or nuts to drain the oils out. From the manual, it looks like the gearcase drain plug is a brass colored socket head underneath the filler plug. Manual also shows the engine filler plug, but doesn't show where the actual engine oil drain plug is. It shows the plug itself and if I'm looking at it right it is underneath the filler plug? So to me it looks like the gearcase drain plug and engine drain plug are two different types of plugs? Does this sound right? I hope I'm making a little sense.
Also, I checked the air filter and noticed it smelled like it had gas in it. This isn't normal, is it? What could be causing this? Do I need a new filter or should I just wash the current one and relubricate it? Thanks.

ok well i do not know how to do the oil changes. i have a 06 90cc sportsman and haven't changed any oil on it besides the chain, and the actual 2 cycle oil, but i've changed the air filter, and it does tend to smell like gas, it may be the reason because the air filter is going into the carb, unless i'm wrong, idk
