I have about 800 miles and have a vibration between a heat shield and the exaust at about the air filter box or slightly rearward. It drives me nuts and only happens at certain frequencies based on the rpm.

Mine's new new, like 1.5 hours and 17 miles. I have a buzz somewhere in the back end at about 2K rpm. I was going to wait for it to settle in before I got after it.
What's more troubling is the amount of heat the thing blows out the gap between the right footwell and the plastic. It feels like someone is holding a hair dyrer set on high right next to your ankle. It's very uncomfortable, I can't wait to splash into a foot or so of water with a hot engine, probably get steam burned. Anyone come up with a way to address this?

So far so good Bro., no issues to report about. I am taking it out riding in two
more weeks, I will take special notice to sense anything.

Cheers,

I had a rattling heat sheild on the right side, it was hitting the frame. I bent it away and got rid of the noise. If you are referring to actual vibration...yeah in low at about 10+ mph or so it will put your feet to sleep from the engine vibration. I just try to keep the engine out of that RPM range in low. The vibe isn't as noticable in high. It also has some driveline vibe at speed, but considering the driveline angles(especially rear driveshaft and axles) I'd say it is well within acceptable limits.

Q-Ball, I used header wrap on the short exposed section of exhaust header. It works great. I do not even notice the heat anymore. If you search my username I posted some pics and links to the stuff I used. You can get it at Autozone, Advance Auto ect ect.
Some people have had the pipe Jet-Hot (ceramic)coated, which works well and looks great. I didn't want to lose the use of mine while I waited to have it coated.

Mine is about 2 months old and has about 200 miles on it. I get a vibration from the heat shield rattling against the exhaust pipe. I bent it away and this helped for a while but it is starting to come back. I also get a buzzing sound vibration out of the connection between the exhaust headers and the pipe into the mufflers. This started after I took the headers off to wrap them with header wrap. If anyone has a fix for this one I would love to hear it. One of the guys I ride with has an '07 800 with the same issue. He even replaced the doughnut inside the connection but it didn't help. It's a great machine once you learn to ignore all of the clunks, whines, buzzes, and rattles it makes.

You da man, no other problems since you put the heat wrap on? I saw some at AutoZone the other day and almost picked it up but decided that I better figure out exactly where the heat is coming from first.
