Recommendations on hand guards
#1
I just bought a 2002 Trail Boss 325 2x4 for my wife to rip around on this weekend. I want to put some hand guards on it. Any suggestions on what hand guards would work well on this quad? It's all stock right now.
Thanks.

Dont know much about them but I bought the ones from Polaris for my Sportsman and absolutely love them. Never knew what i was missing until we rode through the trails with berry bushes on both sides and I didnt get my knuckles tore up. THey have held up well from trailering a few hundred miles at highway speeds to a rollover, and even some big branches knocking them around. So if they make a pair that fit I'd get em you won't be disappointed!! Well worth the price

Well I put a set on my wife's 2006 Sp 450 and got them from the dealer..........I did notice the right and left mounts are different.........So I am glad I went Factory........They even gave us extra longer bolts in case if you have the winch button installed...You need them then!!.....Caper........

I here you Caper. I first installed them on my Hawkeye and almost threw the longer ones away. Good thing I'm a packrat, cause when I got the SPortsman with the factory winch I needed them and they were still in the shop cabinet.
Have yours held up pretty good. I thought that the way they flex a little that it might be a problem but I think they are very sturdy and that little flex may have been what saved them on the rollover.

If you do a lot of trail riding in a group, Kolpin makes a universal set that incorperates rear veiw mirrors in the guards...I tend to lead a lot and after a weekend of a couple hundred miles of trails, the neck tends to get stiff from all the looking back to keep the group together! These sound like a good solution!
Has anyone tried them?

I have a pair of black Polaris handguards that are supposed to fit all the older models with metal throttle housings. I had them on my '97 Sportsman then took them off. They're missing a piece of hardware that can be replaced by a bolt with a spacer over it. Whoever wants them PM me.

yeah, I agree with the rest of the guys. A couple of my friends bought guards from othe companies and after a few rides thier bikes look like a mouse that lost an ear in a bar fight. They all have at least one broke off. I have polaris guards and they work great, fit great, and have shown no signs of coming close to breaking.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. I'll see what Polaris can do for me. I should mention that this quad will see some easy to moderate trail use and playing in the snow in the winter and also made street legal to ride around town. Nothing too serious, I'm just tired of giving up my quad all the time. LOL!!

I also like the PowerMadds. I have the Star series on my Predator and love them. Now I want them for the Sportsmans. I also love how you can take one of the panels out when it's warm so you can still get air through them to cool your hands. My riding gloves have vents on them that catch the air an send it through for cooling so these rock!!
