Default New Carburetor for 1998 Trail Boss 250?

I've checked around quite a bit, from ebay, to rittercycleracing, to a site called... I think, aenperformance or something.

I used to think I had one found on RCR, but I think it turns out it is for a Scrambler 400. So, that's a no go.

I need a whole carb because I left mine out on the porch one night after cleaning it out real good, and the next morning it was gone. Nah, I don't think anyone stole it... I think my dog was the culprit.

So, is there anywhere online to get either a stock one OR a slightly better one. My 98 trail boss 250 is bone stock. Would a bigger carb hurt me in any way? I know I could just tune it, but you can only tune so much.

Can someone point me which way to go to get this thing back running. My little brother just bought a 2006 Trail Blazer 250, and he's going to need a riding partner ;-). Am I just going to have to get one from Polaris themselves? If not, I need advice on whether I need to get another stock one, or a slightly larger one? Which ones will be a direct fit in?

I believe that your 250 is a 2 stroke, correct?
Then check your manual for the correct carb. Probably a Mikuni VM30 or so. Most sleds or other ATV's use the same carbs regardless of manufacture. Find the size, then jet according to your manual. You can find carbs at aftermarket dealers or if there is a sled or ATV wrecking yard near you they should have something thatworks cheap. Just make sre you thoroughly clean it by soaking in carb cleaner and replace all jets, gaskets etc.

Yes, that is what my carburetor is. Thanks for that helpful information. I never even thought to do that.

And yes, it is a 250 2-stroke. BTW, what about a 34mm carb or so for an upgrade? Where can I get a better carb, if I wanted to? And would they be a direct replacement? I'm going to check ebay, now, for a stock one. Thanks for that info, again.

Hey, well I lost the bidding on the link you gave me at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...789&_trksid=p3907.m32

But, now I found this one : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors..._trksid=p4506.c0.m245

and this one : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors..._trksid=p4506.c0.m245

I assume either one would work? I just want to get opinions before I bid on them. Or if anyone knows where another carb is for my 1998 Polaris Trail Boss 250 2-stroke. It is a Mikuni 30mm carb. They look the same (the 2 links), but I know the second link looks identical to mine. Thanks for the help.

Can someone help me about this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...:IT&item=300257714213

I haven't seen my carburetor in while. I can't remember if it had those black plastic parts.

That carb would work but it is about $40 too high for a starting bid.Last one I sold only went for $40+shipping.I would look for newer 250 carb like from a 2000-up Trailblazer less chance of parts being wore out

Thanks for the reply. You have some nice quads in your sig. Which is your favorite (if you can pick one?).

I guess I'll keep looking around. These things are going for some high prices, though. Here is one that was added today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors..._trksid=p4506.c0.m245

A 96 model, I think. That other one I was bidding on (a 1990 model) ended up going for $70, only because I kept bidding on it until it got that high in the last minute. Someone must have put in a pretty good amount. It was at $50, and I bid in $5 increments until time ran out, and still lost at $70.

My fav is my 500 for trail ridding but the 330 Trailboss is great for cruising on country and gravel roads. The 250 Trailblazer is gone now but was a screamer. The Warrior is my sons and I hate it it rides like a log wagon but he likes it.
Keep an eye on ebay and search for polaris 250 and do the complete search.
