need help

Default need help

2004 polairs 400 runs god ,cranks good , untill you get on it or you go up a hill. with the breather tube off the carburetor, it runs good .what can be wrong

its too rich by the sounds of it
try adjusting the air/fuel mixture screw

the air mixture screw only adjusts the idle mixture. When was the last time you cleaned the air filter? I would start with that and then check for any vent tubes that they are connected to the carb and not restricted in any way.

yep. so check the float as well to make sure its set right, as well making sure the air filter is clean. imo.

took the breather box and tube to the carb off .hooked only the air filter up to the carb and it runs great. with the rubber tube to the breather box hooked up it boggs so whats up with the rubber tube?

that causes there to be less air, there fore there is too much fuel and not enough air

polaris dealer worked on it, raced the float still wasnt right . took to another he lowered it . now it only does it when it gets hot .its runs good till then
