just bought an 02 SP500 RSE in Mint condition for $2,700.00 I don't think that was too bad, bike had 1,052 Miles. Only thing wrong is when you stop it still creeps forward. Im gonna take a look at the clutch to see why it isn't fully disengaging. And it needs a new starter. other than that it in great shape. I'll post pics later. asking this may make me sound stupid but where are the Ebs bushings? I can build my 88 with my eyes closed because I have worked on it soo much. But this thing is a whole new game. I ordered a manual to help out so I guess I could wait to see when it gets here. It's just it rolls forward and chatters. The chatter is coming from the rear end or towards the rear and it sounds bad but when I get on the gas of course it goes away. Another question...this bike seems to stop itself, is that part of the EBS?

EBS=engine braking system, so yes its suppose to stop it self. if you looked at a break down of the parts for the bike you would see the clutch. the one way bushing(ebs) in the primary clutch has like fiber washers that can wear out and cause it to creep. it also could be a bad belt, broken engine mount, out of alignment. best way is too take off the clutch cover and have a look.once you get it off give a shout back and we'll tell ya what to look at.

ok I pulled the bike apart and I found that the belt has been replaced with a parts unlimited item #LMX2001 and that is the right number for the bike with an EBS system. But today i noticed that the belt itself on the primary side looks like its not wide enough and it is like riding the wall on the inner side towards the motor. It looks like its aligned almost perfect. Also there is like no play, its really tight??

I was looking at the clutch tonight and it seems that when I push the primary in towards the motor the little arms hang up inside and it does not want to come all the way back out towards the bolt, it stops before it gets to the right spot. And I check all the motor mounts they are ok but that belt is a Parts unlimited Item # LMX2001 but It sure is Dam tight. I almost broke my hand taking it off and on.

Tonight I started the bike up and left the clutch cover off, when I gas it the clutch moves towards the motor and when I let off it goes back towards the outside of the bike but it hangs up it stops before it his the bolt and it moves back towards the outside of the bike in a sticking, jerking motion.

Primary clutch sounds like it needs rebuilt, takes special tools to get it apart, put a polaris belt on after rebuild, havent had much luck with aftermarket belts.
