Doing the 100 hr/1000 mile service and on page 73 of the owners manual, they show a nipple labeled "Transmission Upper Pivot Point". Has anyone done theirs yet and if so, how do you get at it and do any parts have to be removed other than the transmission case? My trans case doesn't look like the one shown in the manual.

 

havent done hers yet but didnt think there was up in that area. have to take a look at the book.

Probably talking about propshaft zerk fitting at trans out put shaft?

 

i wouldnt think there would be one on the tranny it self lol. most likely your correct as you most likely have serviced a few of these by now.

Well guys, this one has got me frustrated. I'm fairly mechanical and I've scoured the on line parts manual and diagrams and can't find a nipple or zerk. To make things harder, the diagram in the owners manual appears to be a mirror image or backwards.

 

when i did my oil change it told me to use a 8mm allen key to drian the oil,but there was not a allen bolt,but a 13 mm regular bolt head,dont remeber the correct bolt sizes just saying that there was not a allen head bolt there,looked at the manual copy write date and it is 2007,wonder if they used the hawkeye manual for the 08 400 h.o?

 

Maybe a ploy to get you to go to the dealer........... Ya think?

 

Anybody else got an idea?
