Drop Rack for Sportsman
#1
All
Just bought an '08 Sportsman 800 EFI and So far I love it, I'm coming off an 04 ATP 500 HO and the power difference is huge, I have been skidding logs, and I do mean LOGS for the last couple days cleaning up after the windstorm we had here in Southern Indiana on Sunday, stuff that would require full throttle in low range for the ATP the 800 just drags effortlessly. The only thing I am really missing about my ATP is the bed. I could just throw stuff like a chansaw, axe, hatchet, thermos etc in the dump bed and take off without having to mess with bungee cords to keep the stuff from bouncing out. I think a drop rack would ease a lot of my seperation anxiety. Anyone know of a brand that works well with the polaris plastic racks?
Thanks

I have the Kolpin. I got it for the same reason, needed secure space for the chainsaw in the fall, ice fishing gear in the winter, etc. I like the drop rack for when we build/erect stands, drop the gate and it makes a solid bench/table to set the tools, bolts, etc. Good product. I set mine up with a couple fender bags in the drop basket, makes good secure storage for tools, straps, etc. Works out well. If you want pics shoot me your email addy.

To really make it tric you could buy 4 of the lock and ride expandable mounts and bolt them through the mesh and you have an easily removable rack. In the fall we use the quads on a xmas tree farm (the type where you get to cut down your own tree) and we haul the trees back to the check out line for the people. We have real simple tree holders made out of angle channel in an F shape on its back to hold the trees. I was gona make mine easily removable with the mounts.

Wenty,
I'd love to see the pics of how you mounted it. I can't figure out how to email you though.
Indls:
Yeah, I have thought about the lock and ride anchors, the damn things are $15 each through Polaris though, I'm cheap, I am tryong to find some little rubber plugs that I can drill and make my own.
