I always dress appropriately when riding my ATV or Rhino and carry my Glock 27. We have killed three rattlesnakes around our house and they really are quite tasty. I do not bother snakes anywhere unless they are in our yard and that is for the safety of our grandkids.

We usually keep our ATV sitting outside or in our barn and one day my wife decided to take her mother for a ride. About five minutes out, a snake crawled out from under the tank and across my wife's arm. Needless to say the ATV was abandoned. When I asked my wife what kind of snake it was, she said she didn't take time to look.

One thing I should say that happened to me while riding......A Yellow Jacket(Wasp) hit my neck while riding and got stuck in my collar on my coat, Then the Pain started ,man I had a stiff neck the rest of the day riding and needed to turn my whole body just to look and talk to someone...LOL....LOL..

Lucky for me I have no reactions to a sting........Some people may need to see a doctor afterwards...
.....Caper..........

I've run across surprises even in cold climates. While in Alaska, we could easily be surprised by moose around a corner when riding in the hills. Or even grizzlies. Seen both and luckily avoided them. I did have a moose try to race me on a narrow trail. Now that was harrowing!

We were out riding a few weeks ago and came upon these guys:

They're a herd of wild horses that roams around the national forest where we ride quite often.
