Default Cyclone interchangeability with Trail Boss?

I'm a new owner of a Cyclone. Doing my best to research this machine.
It has a broken throttle cable, and I just cant seem to find much for replacment parts for the Cyclone, maybe because it's old and was only made for one year?

It still has the oil injection hooked up, and has a twist throttle. Would there be any difference in the later Trial Boss 250 cable? late 80's early 90's?

#7080328 part number for the the old 87 Cyclone. Should supercede to a new number if original no longer available.Should have thumb throttle instead of twist throttle. Can try to match up if any local dealer has some old stock if all else fails. Major difference between the cables for all the years is length. Hope this helps

Thanks for the P/N. I did see one on ebay under that number. Is it normal for cable on the older ones to be tripple the price of the newer ones?

I hope the OEM cable is compatible with the twist throttle thats is on this machine.

Edit: Is the newer cables shorter or longer?

Thanks again for the help, much appreciated!

Edit: Update! It's still an availible part, My local polaris dealer can order one up for $49 and have it in a few day's. Thats cheaper then the ones going on ebay, awsome. I'm surpried parts for such an old machine is still availible at a dealer.

Check out Motion Pro web site for after market cables. But the 86-88 cables should be the same.
also use this link to crossrefferance oem parts http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp

The Cyclone was a unique machine in that some parts were different such as the throttle cable, clutches and set up,etc. The one I worked on basically had low power until about 4000 rpm,THEN hang on! For a 250 would wheelie pretty good!

Buy mine.

I dont think I'll keep it, I bought it for my wife, thinking it would make a nice easy to drive ATV (since it has CVT auto). At the time I did'nt know the Cyclone was a rare factory tuned race machine. With the high RPM clutch, I'm afraid my wife will be doing wheelies against her will. And I think I'll stick with 4 cycle ATV's .
