Man Highoctane, seeing pics of yours now really makes me want to get some aftermarket tires along with those 212 rims!! It's going to take an act of congress to persuade the wife to let me get them after the "goodies" that I already have for it, lol. Anyways, yours does look awesome with those tires and rims!!</end quote></div>
Thanks,I think it turned out to be a pretty good looking setup. Between here and another board I bet that pic has sold a couple sets of 212's to XP guys aready, lol
I here ya on gettin' the finance manager on board,it's hard. Luckily I found these "used" and got a good deal.
Just fyi there is a guy on ebay who sells alot of wheels and tires and his prices are dang good, the set up I got was IIRC around $730 shipped from him. I'll have to look again to make sure.

I'm also going to negotiate the winch too. How much did you guys pay for your winches? Off the bat, I get 10% off all accessories in the store, but if I can do better somewhere else, then that's where you will find me shopping.

I have yet to see any great deals on the 3500# winch, the normal places that sell cheap that I look at do not even list it yet.
That said I paid $390,list is $449. I would say you could do better than that probably,I didn't have alot of time to shop around on the winch.

HIGHOCTANE,
Man, that is one gorgeous quad!!! If it were mine, I'd be hesitant to take it out and get it dirty, or scared to get a scratch on it!
Hope you have many years of trouble free fun with it.

Thanks. I do try to take care of my stuff,my dealer accused me of having OCD.
It's been covered in a mud a few times now but I always do my best to put it up clean, even if it means washing it in the dark. I like to believe if you take care of your equipment it will take care of you. I'm cautious when I ride but I've taken it everywhere I took the 800 and no scratches yet(knocks on wood). lol
Seems it is easier to thread through the tight stuff than the 800 was. Also another benefit(IMO) to the new wheels and tires, is they stick out past the fenders so they rub trees ect before they can hit the fenders.

You and I are a alot alike. My girlfriend always teases me about my vehicles and condo, if I see something on the floor, like a leaf, dirt or something like that, I need to pick it up right away, or I would constantly think about it.
And yes, if you take care of your equipment, then it will take care of you..no doubt about that. I think of it as an investment in yourself because it makes you happy and it will give you years of fun!

That's obvious by the pics of your quads (and Stang). I too am the same way about all my equipment and vehicles.
Just so you know, you are costing me more and more money all the time. I wanted to get "better" tires and wheels for my quad a when I first got it. When I saw your new XP, I thought... maybe I'll get "even better" wheels and tires. Now, seeing your XP tricked out, I feel I need "really nice" wheels and tires.
However, I won't be able to make my little red Sportsman look like your ride... maybe in a couple years there will be a new XP in my future. Then I can go really crazy.
Have fun.

Sorry, I know how that is. Used to happen to me all the time with my cars. I'd see something on a forum I just had to have, lol.
From your sig it looks like you have yours set up nicely. I lucked into the wheels and tires, even so I think the XP is done for awhile as the bank is dried up.

I needed to move my pop up today, not that I minded,it was another excuse to ride, lol
Anyway..I mentioned before that the higher ratio low range is nice for trail riding in technical stuff but that I thought it might be a concern when towing heavy. Well it isn't.It pulled the 1500# camper very easily, more easily then the lower geared 800 even. The clutch engaged nicely and it was moving with little to no perceived strain. It feels like alot has to do with the clutching, the 800 used to feel like it might be slipping the belt a lttle right at engagement pulling the camper. And you could tell it was working, not real hard, but it was working to move it. It pretty much felt like it was effortless for the 850. Honestly it isn't at all what I expected. I thought this might be a XP weakness, but it seems it is another strength.
Also even on the lightest rear spring setting it didn't seem to squat too bad. I was still able to steer pretty good. Seems like it squats a little less than the 800 did on the next stiffer setting.
And no I do not live in the house in the background.

I'm not buying a new XP yet... I don't care what you say!
BTW, which ever house is yours, I like where you live. Looks like you've got room to ride.

LOL...
Thanks. Yeah we lucked into this place,it's probably the only place in the area that actually has rolling hills. When people come back in where I live they can't believe it is eastern NC.
You can see the corner of my house in the bottom pic, looks blue but it's actually grey.
It's built into the side of one of those hills. It's plain, nothing fancy. But the view is very nice.
