Good point Rancher! I have a 2" ball from my utility cart that I could use. In fact, I need to get that from Connecticut Thanksgiving weekend to bring up to New Hampshire.

Very nice HighOctane! This is the first time I had the opportunity to see the pictures! It seems like these pouches can hold quite a bit of stuff, like tools, electronic equipment, tire patch kit, etc, etc..For the price they are selling them for, I may purchase two myself [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

If you look at how much space is between the rack and the plastic it will give you an idea about how much it holds. It's best use is small items you can arrange to take the shape of the pouch. As for electronics I have 2 concerns 1) Right above the radiator would tend to get a little warm I imagine, especially in the summer.
2) I know the Polaris site mentions something about "waterproof zipper" The zipper may be but I doubt the pouch is. It comes with a gallon size zip lock bag inside..wonder what that's for? lol So if you don't want it wet have a back up such as bagging it. Most of us do that anyway though right?

It actually had a set on it when I bought it. I had them take them off. The looked sweet but I didn't have that much loot with me. It was the lights or the winch...lights had to go. I couldn't believe the price...dang! lol
I also was concerned with how much of the rad screen they block, I do alot of slow riding. I might try 'em one day. Dealer called me the other day and said he has the HMF exhaust in stock.... temptation set in. Gotta hold off till after Christmas though..I'm tapped out on the quad fund.

 

I went and test drove a 550xp and 850 this morning....WOW ..... what two awesome machines. The 550 felt perfect..... the 850 has some serious moxy! I got a price for a package with both bikes and and goodies. Amazing how fast the extras add up. I was thinking a 52'' inch plow but the parts guy suggested a 60''. My driveway is a little steep so I thought the 52" would help given the smaller path. But I guess after the first pass you control the how much of a bite. I guess the extra weight on the nose is another consideration. I also asked for a 3500# winch and they said they only had 2500#ones and said that it would be more than enough. Having no experience with this size/type atv any thoughts on the plow width (for the 850) as well as the winch capacity (550&850).

I was able to see the black and green side by side and it makes for a tough decision. I'm thinking green for both.

 

Wait for the 3500 lb winch it is only $20.00 more and it comes with a remote control as well as the handlebar control. It's a heavy machine and it can build a lot of suction in the mud. I just finished installing mine and it is very easy to do. The sage green is a very nice looking color. I was going to get the black model but when I saw the sage green I changed my mind plus it was the only one they had. They had 800's in the black so I did have a comparison. I loaded some pictures in my file but I'm not sure how to get the camera Icon so they can be looked at. Congratulations on you fine choices.

My dealer said my 500 would handle the 60" plow with no problems. I would think that either of those machines (especially the 850) will handle the 60" plow easily. As a matter of fact, you can probably push over small trees with the 850. LOL

I have the 2500# Warn. You wouldn't believe what my son and I have done with that winch. BTW... I would get the Warn, and not the Polaris winch. If you have the option, I would go for the synthetic rope on the winch. My steel cable is starting to fray a little bit already. However, we did move a lot of logs and stumps.

Looking at HIGHOCTANE'S green XP... it's hard to pick another color. It looks sweet. Of course, if they had one in the Nuclear Sunset, or Sunset Red, I might have a change of heart. LOL

Yea, I figured they might block a lot of air flow. Besides, you already have the 3 light system. I have the Polaris Xenon lights in the low beams, and they are a significant improvement over the stockers.

Hope Santa brings you the HMF. :-)

LOL,funny you mention that. I occasionaly push over small trees, 2"diameter or so. More funny that you mention it is I just got back from a ride. And while I was out playing I came across a new dead fall tree across one of my rails so I started looking around for others that were still standing but close to the trails. I came across one a good 12" in diameter at the base. Yeah it was dead but hadn't been dead a long time and was still pretty stout feeling. I pulled up to it and put the center of the front brush guard against it and pushed it over fairly easily. Won't have to worry about that one crossing the trail. I like the trees on the trail they are fun,but other guys ride the trails too and there machines don't like a 12"tree very much,lol.
Disclaimer:be careful pushing over large dead trees,if they are really weak the top can break off and will most times fall in the direction it is being pushed from....bad news to have a large tree top fall on you even if it is dead.
