Can I swap a 330 for a 400??
The 2005 trailboss 330 seized due to a dime size hole in the oil pan. The kids kept riding until it wouldn't go anymore. I know these machine are relatively cheap but am I correct to assume the replacement or fixing this machine would also be "cheap"?
Would it be easier to rebuild the 330 or replace it? Can I swap the engine for a larger one? Are these engines capable of being rebuilt once they have seized?
Any ideas how much a new 330 engine costs?
Thank you for your help

if you do the work yourself you could probaly rebuild it for under $350 depending on what seized. if the piston is all that siezed just do a top end job. about $200 for a top end job. if the piston has broken then i would go into the bottom end and tear it apart and clean it all up and replace all bearings and seals.

a full rebuild wouldnt cost too much if you sourced the bearings from someplace other than a stealership. any good bearing house can mic bearings and seals and get you the right stuff. as long as the piston didnt shatter and the bearings didnt freeze i would do a topend job and call it good.
