Default Axle Swap

Anyone ever swaped the old u-joint style axle's from 96-98 with the 99 plus CV axles. It looks to me like the newer style splined hub would fit into the gearcase. I have a 98 that has a busted yoke ear and wondered if it would be better to just retro-fit new CV style axles.

I have done this! You just need to pick up a set of rear hubs from a 1998 - 2002 model and use the stock axle for those same years. Everything will fall right into place. If you need the new complete axles for them checkout "thecvman" on Ebay. Or PM me ;-)
