Dang Sten, didn't know you were this popular. Maybe you have a virus of some type.

I'd check the computer too.

Most times I can post with no problems, but every once in a while it might just seem to lock up. Hate to see you give up on the site, as the others have said, you've been very helpful to the others here.

you have something wrong somewhere. look how many posts you have, your telling me on every one of those posts it took you 20 times just to get it posted?? i dont think so. check the virus and cache thing as mention above but also get yourself a good spyware remover program. i was having a some what simular problem and a tech told me to dl a spyware remover program and then try again. it worked! i was not able to get to a web site and sometimes the modem would not communicate with the pc. the spyware thing worked for me. so try that before you give up

i guess i didnt realize it either. this wasnt a ploy to get attenion for sure(i dont need any more of that lol). ok guys let see if i can straight a few of ya out. my post count has been since 2003 and i have had issues off and on but not as bad as its been for this year. unfortunetly i dont have alot of patients w/ something that doesnt work the way it should. this is my 2nd or 3rd computer ive had since ive been a memeber of the atv mag. and ive had the same provider right along. as far as cleaning out goes my comp. is set up to do it auto. every week soo its not that and i have a real good virus/ crap protection. since i have boosted my strenght it has been somewhat better as you have noticed that i am posting again. sometimes the forum is slow but the moderators do a pretty good job in trying to keep this up and running. i just got used to not having any wait of issues w/ my other snowmobiling forums. forgive me for venting and carry on. thank you.

stendori,

I for one am glad to see you back.

Now I will be able to ask you questions about the Dalton clutch springs you installed.

Hopefully things work out and you stick around Stendori. Hate to lose a fellow Mainer from the forum.

For what it's worth - I haven't had issues posting - though my post count is not nearly as high as yours Stendori. If I am writing a long post I do sometimes open up MS Word then copy and paste to here.

Depending on how many pages are on the thread you're in makes a difference too.

If you go into your profile page, then click on the tab for personal options, go to Message Display Order and choose Descending. This puts the latest post at the top, so you don't have to go through all the pages to find the latest post.

I think its an isp problem .Sometimes my isp has isssues with the provider of this site also.
I run a chat board using pphb on our whitewater kayaking site and have seen simaler problems and we have just figured its the way certian isp are routing through the internet at that given time[they can fluxuate all the time for various reasons].
Hope it gets better for you .....

It's very likely a FuseTalk/Ad Server issue.
You HAVE to block the ads. They are what is slowing everything down.
There is a way to do it through your hosts file but I just use FireFox with Ad block and I run another Add On called "No Script". You have to manually allow scripts and you can block ones that cause hang ups.
Yes it sucks to block ads from a forum we want to support. But if that's what it takes to post, I personally don't have an issue with it.
