Default Help Please

I just finished bypassing my speedometer to make my 4wd work on my 2000 Sportsman 500. I grounded the brown and white wire to the nut on the handle bar.
After taking it for a test ride, something is wrong. When I turn the handlebar all the way to the right the AWD light comes on and the engine revs up. Turn it all the way to the left the light goes off and the engine idles back down were it belongs. What do I do now? By the way the engine revved up before I did this bypass. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Disregard- I relocated the ground wire and everything works great.
