Default Another hub oil question

I need some oil for the hubs on an 87 Trail Boss 4x4. Is this the same stuff that the newer ones use or do I need something different?

you are supposed to buy the special synthetic stuff from polaris!!! ive heard of ppl using anything from gear oil, to 10W-40, to ATF.... well in my opinion you should buy the sythetic from polaris... i have changed the oil in a couple different machines and let me tell you, if you had the polaris oil in front of you to compare it with other oils then you would probably feel the same way... and its not that polaris oil is any better but the viscoscity is different... its alot more runny then regular oil... idk that was just my opinion when i saw the difference

ATF just fine in the older machines,Polaris didnt even start using demand hub fluid until about 92? Too long for even me to remember.

Thanks, I'll just use ATF since I have a gallon jug of it already. This thing won't be used for much other than plowing the driveway and doing some work around the yard anyway. I just wasn't sure since everything that came up when I searched was for newer machines.
