Default polaris ps-4 plus performance 0w-50 oil

I have an 07 polaris outlaw 525 IRS the manual says to use ps-4 plus performance 0w-50 oil i can not find this oil anywhere even at the polaris online store. does anyone have any alternative oils that would work. i live in montana and need an oil that can work in 20 below to 100+ and everything in between.

The manual is wrong, that oil is actually 2w50.It should be available at any dealer because that is what is used in every outlaw and sportsman for 2008.

We still have a few quarts(red labeled sticker) "designed for Outlaw",BUT plumbob is right, the number on the bottle supercedes to 2-50 PS 4 Plus!! I've just about gotten rid of all odd ball oil that made everything so confusing! Good luck

I was told to run the ps-4 plus in my 08 800 sportsman and my 09 rzr but the book on both say to use 0-40 oil, but polaris only sells the ps-4 plus, so is it 0-40 or 2-50 it is not marked on the bottles anywhere.

Just use Amsoil Formula Four Stroke 0w-40 or Mobil 1 0w-40. I've used Amsoil for years in everything from my Harley Sportster 1200 in 90+ degree stop and go traffic, to both my 500 and 800 Sportsmans.

I agree. I believe Polaris went to the 2W-50 oil on ALL their quads rather than have some use 0W-40 and others use 2W-50. Makes sense... now they only have to stock one oil.

I doubt there is much difference between them. IMHO, while the Polaris oil is MORE than good enough... the AMSOIL is even better. I like how smooth and how much easier all my equipment start and runs with AMSOIL. As a matter of fact, I switched to the AMSOIL Chaincase lube for the CVT, and that seems to work smoother. However, that could be that it is just breaking in.
