Default 3 headlight mod

Well I finally got around to doing the three headlight mod on the wifes quad and let me say it's well worth the time.
I used a 12v relay instead of the diode method. It took me about an hour but I'm still moving slow from my back surgery. I'm also picky *** hell when it comes to these things so an hour ain't bad.
Now that I've done it once it shouldn't take as long when I do mine, just gotta get more shrink tube etc.
If anyone is on the fence about doing the mod I say go for it!
Thanks to everyone who has posted diagrams/directions to do this mod.

So the added load is not put on the factory switch. I've heard of a few cases where the switch burnt out because of the extra load so I decided to play it safe.
I also know of alot of guys running the diode with no trouble so it's really just a personal preference.

Does anyone notice that when you hold in your left front brake handle the headlight
beams reduce abit? I am not sure if this is did it from the factory setup or after I added the
3way light mod (Yes the bike is running).

Stendori, since you hadn't and we have the same make and model could you check yours?

Regards,

R'

they are going to dim a bit because the brake like is coming on. i would bet that a stock quad would not dim the headlights. theres more of a draw on your battery/charing system when all of your lights are going. the stator in quads are already pushing all the juice they can make. add a couple more lights to it than what its designed for and your gonna see some dimming somewhere. nothing to worry about though

You will also notice it dim some when the fan cycles.
