Default Wheel recommendations for Sportsman

Hi,

Looking for recommendations on a good light, but strong 12X7 wheels to replace the stock wheels on my Sportsman.

Anyone know if the ITP Type 7 wheels are lighter than the stock steel wheels on a Sportsman?

Thanks

Thanks 700 sportsman. Do you think the Bruisers are lighter than the stock steel rims?

I'd like to offset the added weight of new larger tires and spacers.

i have the type 7's on my 800 and yes they are lighter then steel by a few pounds and they have a better off set for wider tires. i like the SS112(i think thats what they are) from itp and wanted a set for the wifes 400 but had to settle for the douglas rattle snake rims.

Thanks stendori,

I want to step up one size in tires to 26". Not worried about the backs, but the stock fronts are 8" wide, while the new tires will be 9" wide. If I go with new 12X7 rims (like the SS112's) all the way around, do you think the 9" tires will clear the tie rods and shocks in the front WITHOUT spacers? I can see with the stock rims it will be CLOSE.

The tires will clear on the type 7 wheels with no problem as the offset is wider than the stock wheels so you won't need spacers. The type 7's are lighter than stock. The cool thing about ITP rims is that they have a lifetime warranty. I don't think anyone else offers that. Something to think about. The ss112's, imo, are very cool looking. I wish they had them out when I bought my 108's.

So, by the sounds of it, if I go with a 12X7 aftermarket wheel that has the 4-3 offset I shouldn't have an issue with the 9" wide tires in the front. I could also go with a 1" spacer and the stock wheels. That would give the quad a wider stance all the way around.

I know, I know... somebody is going to say.... get them both.
