Personally a winch is something I'd probably never buy used. Yes, it may have been well taken care of and as utterly pristine as a vestal virgin but then again most aren't. Most have been submerged in mud and water, rarely serviced, abused and overworked.

It'd have to look nearly new and be insanely cheap before I'd touch one.

With copies of older warn winches like yours going for like $125 on Ebay, I don't think that I'd pay more than $50 to $75 for a used older model winch. As has been said, a lot of people are skeptical about buying certain things used, particularly things that are basically safety equipment like a winch. If you're definitely going to sell the winch, good luck but I don't think that you will generate much money by selling it. Good luck though.

Don't forget about shipping charges too, if it's not a local sale. Not a lightweight item.

Come on GH. Even if you need some change don't sell your winch. There are guys on here that are pinching pennies to buy one and you have a perfectly good one and wanting to sell it. That things weight isnt gonna make a difference to your Sportsman and after you buy your tires and have them a couple months you'll be wishing you still had your winch. Keep it on there and keep saving. You'll prob. be happier in the long run.

Or sell it if you want. Cant help you on prices though. Do like the others and check ebay, or I've been selling a ton of stuff on CraigsList lately. Was finally able to get the 800 and give my wife my 500. What an awesome time in a guy's life when you can get on your 800 and hand the key to the 500 over to your wife. I've been dreaming of that day for a while.
