Flywheel Explosion AKA Stator Help (FKA :First seized then no Spark?!?)

Delux500EFI....how do you adjust the gap? I checked mine, the manual states a maximum gap of .030....my biggest feeler gauge is .022 and it has a lot of wiggle room. I loosed the bolts on the pulsar coil, but it doesn't seem to move at all, the holes in the mounting tabs are round and the same size as the bolt, so you can't really move it. Am I missing something?

Just use the .022. I put the coil right up against the flywheel and just backed it off a hair and it has worked great for two years now. .033 is a Max .

Well good news...i tested the stator, turns out one of the wires was broken by a magnet chunk, got it spliced back together and then it all tested out fine. It started right up and runs great. Thanks for everyone's help. I ran it down my street and now the speedometer quit....I found the key where it goes into the tranny was broken, it's always something with these Polaris'. I'm getting a new speedometer key today ($18 for a tiny piece of metal!!) then it's off to Craigslist before something else breaks!

I used a piece of 1/8" aluminum wire and hammered it square until it fit. This has been working for 2 years.

I got a 98 Magnum 425
Hey could rust around the fly wheel and the circular metal that runs infront of the pulsar effect the amout of elec. generated cause I have a really weak elec. coming from the red wire coming from the either the pulsar or stator in the fly wheel housing?
PS. the elec. that leads to the Ignition coil is weak which I am assuming is not enough power to power the spark plug.

try cleaning the magnets on the flywheel good and the ends of the stator windings. foreign objects can prohibit the stator from making enough juice
