Trailblazer climbed Sand Mountain!!!
#1
We were out at Sand Mtn. at Little Sahara dunes in Utah on friday. The sand was quite wet with patches of snow which made for some very fun riding. After I got all of my quads unloaded and warmed up I jumped on my Raptor and went flying up Sand Mountain. When I got to the top I saw my younger brother on my wife's Trailblazer following me up. To my complete disbelief he actually made it all the way up! It wasn't fast and it wasn't paddled but it made steady progress all the way up. I just thought I would post this for the Trailblazer owners so that they would know that their machines are capable of climbing a 700 foot mountain of sand if the conditions are right.

Ahh, a twinge of hope!!!!
I have a TBlazer that would only make it about halfway up a bowl before I had to turn around, where as a stock Blaster could climb to the top(barely, though). Once the snow melts, I'm gonna conquer it this year w/ the added mods(stock last summer)

Bodineus, it was up the valley (right side). I would have to think it would take some extreme mods to get up the face on the left as my piped Scrambler with Haulers will barely make the face. My wife is asking for more power from her Trailblazer so I need to get to work (it would be cool if she could go faster to sorta keep up with me). She doesn't like the Scrambler because of it's size and weight. What mods have you done to your TB? I need more power out of this thing! It won't even turn some mild V-paddles (Kenda Trekkers) they actually slow the machine down. I can guarantee that this thing (even piped) would NEVER make it up the Mtn. if the sand were dry. This reed conversion kit sounds promising but expensive and it doesn't sound like it will be out till late summer or fall and I need to have this done by spring. What can I do for this poor underpowered machine? I figure that I will get the head milled, new piston and larger bore, maybe a new carb if needed, heck whatever it needs! Except for the huge lack of power, this machine fits the bill perfectly for my wife since it's reasonably light, auto, and has reverse.

Don't think I haven't thought about that!
I'm thinking that it shouldn't be impossible since the frames are just about identical but it would be expensive and I'm not sure I want to put that much into it.
