Default Waterproofing

I see so many video with machines under water or at least over the tires. I see some of the more serious gus are running snorkles.

My question is, what does a person need to do, to to a stock machine, to run over the tires if anything? How waterproof are the machines fuel, ignition, oil systems in stock condition?

All thes video's have me wondering.

How deep has everyone gone in stock condition?

for over the tires, you probably should snorkle the belt housing, and if over the seat, you'd need to snorkle the air box also

Also IMO you need to use dielectric grease on every electical connection you can find, no matter what depth you're running.

Also to answer "how deep have I gone stock?" I've gone to the top of the tires a couple of times and it didn't hurt anything. I love the mud and water but try to keep it with in reason. I always wash everything good when I get home and grease all Zerk's,pushing out any water with fresh grease. I also check the air box and oil for water immediately after going alittle deep. To add, my belt housing has never had water in it, but it's a real possibility in water tire deep.

You'll be surprised these things can go pretty deep but the real concern is around the seat level.
Your suspicions are right over top of tire, take it easy and make sure your airbox is tight. empty
the water thru the drain plug of the clutch housing when finished. USE LOW GEAR for slippage when
deep water.

As for snorkeling once I have a real consistent guide on how to do it I may move in that direction
just to protect things if anything else Vs. doing Submarine tactics, LOL!

Dielectric grease all connections, silicone the seal on the inner clutch cover between primary clutch and motor, snorkel the coolant overflow bottle like the 08's are. Also snorkel the clutch intake, clutch exhaust, and airbox.Don't forget to allow the engine to cool down before entering deep water(t-bap sensors don't like steam).

I've been in water up to the racks without waterproofing anything, but I don't reccomend it. I don't usually go through water over a foot deep, but I don't usually check how deep it is either.
