Default Type of greece used on bearings

What type of greece should be used on the rear bearings of a 03 Sportsman 700?
Two other questions. What is a good notch to adjust the rear shocks to, factory set was the softest. Next question I pulled my outer rear bearings out with no problems, a little tricky keeping the bearings in place but succeeded. How do you get the inner ones out? Thank You Merry Christmas

The race is not supposed to come out! Have heard of people greasing when this happens and sticking outer race back in,but bearing is sold as solid bearing (one big bearing with two inner and outer races! Best way to remove bearing is to remove hub, remove circlip, heat bearing and drive out bearing from one of the 3 notches inside hub.

It all went back OK, I was probably lucky. I know it's after the fact now but I used standard Quaker State wheel bearing greece when I put it back together. What do you think?

keep an eye(ear) out as its not going to last. i used lithum grease to regrease them or a marine bearing grease w/ is better for repling water. imo.

i have always used a red synthetic grease from mobil.....it states its waterproof.....i always take the new bearings apart and clean the junk they use out and repack with the red stuff....it helps but i only averaged about 1200 miles on a set of bearings....
