random stuff breaking this year

Battery on the 500 HO went this fall, not a big deal because I have the 800 to ride. I just put the 500 in the corner of the garage.
XBox 360 failed last week, out of warranty of course. Tried the fixes I could find on the Internet to no avail.
The desktop computer froze on me last week, haven't had time to troubleshoot it. Not a big deal right now since I have a lap top and its going strong for now.
The winch on the 800 failed a few days ago right when I was done plowing. It just hums, clutch won't unlock, plow stuck in the down position. Not that bad, I can still plow but I just end up back blading every time I back up. I can't stack snow though.
The other day I broke out the snowblower to cut the banks back, and the shear pins go south on me almost immediatey, didn't have spares on hand.
It has been below zero at night for a few nights in a row, and 6 inches of snow fell last night and we're supposed to get another 6 to 9 inches today. Plowed the driveway with the 800 and as I was covering it up, I noticed the front diff input shaft seal was leaking.......again.
Break out the snowblower again to replace the shear pins, go to start it up and the recoil starter is frozen solid, carburetor frozen, the whole thing is like a block of ice.
Go to put the salamander heater on it but its out of fuel. Check the diesel fuel can and its empty.
I can't put the 500 into service until I get a new battery for it, and it's Sunday so I'm out of luck until tomorrow.
There, I feel a little better.
On the plus side:
I've replaced the front diff seal once so I already know how to do it.
A new battery is all that's needed to get the 500 back into service.
The price of gas is down.
I put new shear pins in the snowblower and thawed it out so I have that in the mean time.
My kids are happy and healthy.
Christmas is right around the corner.
And I get to fly my R/C airplanes in the Dome tonight with several buddies from my Club.
Thanks guys!

sheepdog - now that's some sh*t.
I kinda had a fall like that. Not sure where it started but I think I was the computer. Almost get one thing fixed and another issue would crop up.
It times like these that you need to step back and take toll of the "good" things you have going on - such as having happy and healthy kids. Material stuff doesn't matter much once you consider your family. Of course it always helps to come onto this forum and vent a little.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, whatever - this is a great time of year to take toll of what you have - not what you don't

I read somewhere that a group of "shrinks" said that if your life was either completely "happy" with never a worry, complaint, anger, sadness,or negative emotional situation,Then INSANITY would probably set in,SAME thing would happen if never having a feeling of joy, fulfillment, looking forward to life with anticipation, or some self esteem, even if very small, would lead to INSANITY also! Guess it just takes a little of both to make life interesting and WORTH living!! Plus just my old opinion, believing in something or SOMEONE higher than myself helps me to make sense of lifes ups and downs! Seasons Greetings to one and all!!

Sorry to hear about your luck Sheep. I've not had the greatest time lately either. My dad past away in March...He was only 56 yo. and never sick a day in his life. Then I screwed up my back REAL GOOD and was literally on my face for 2 months in severe pain. Finally got surgery and doing better.
For the everyday stuff..this past week....I've had to do MAJOR repair to the garage door and then a few days later the water heater dumped. I went to fix the water heater and didn't have the tools I needed....ughh. Now my coffee maker is leaking and about to die. This wouldn't bother me BUT it's one of those speed demon BUNN coffee makers that I got as a gift from my dad.
Anyway I'm still thankful for many things too. I got married in May to a wonderful woman and got to go on the greatest honeymoon to the Caribbean via a BIG *** cruise ship. I'm also glad that I'm feeling better and my best positive thing is I quit smoking about two months ago.
Like they say it can always get worse!
