Hey
You can use 100% synthetic because there pre unit engine and gearbox that means your gearbox isnt in the engine so you wont have a clutch slip problem. The stock oil from Polaris is great but expensive you can use most any 5-50 synthetic.hope this info helps.

The owners manual recommends using the Polaris 0-40 weight oil. Since it only takes two quarts of oil I don't mind paying for it. Besides, I haven't been able to find any 0-40 weight oil anywhere else.

I would like to know why they use an odd weight of oil as well. I do like the fact that Polaris is using synthetic fluids in their atv's.

I to use that expensive polaris synthetic oil. It seems to me that, that oil lasts along time and we
really don't need to change it as often as we might think. Of course we should after the break in period but after that maybe not so often. Just keep it full. Does any one know, what the truth is
about the long lasting capability of synthetic oil. My xpedition takes 5 quarts. So it is pricey for me. rangerchet 2000 polaris xpedition 425 cc 5-speed.
