850 Top end run
#32
Thats pretty cool, I was riding yesterday with a dude on a Honda 450r, he has a pipe and air filter and actually just had an after market cam put in it, he was hitting 80 using his gps..that was screaming...what are the chances of Polaris putting out a 850XPR...850 motor with a lighter frame, lose the racks etc...they could probably shave off a couple hundred pounds and crush the renegade

82 what was he going downhill & only weighs 100 lbs ?</end quote></div>
Edit-he just happened to post about it on another board,it was 81,flat ground, he weighs 240#.
It may have been down hill but he dang sure doesn't weigh 100lbs,lol. Not unbelieveable IMO. Mine hit 75 pretty dang quick, and was still climbing pretty good.
I actually wasn't completely joking about crouching down,at those speeds wind resistance has pretty significant force...
Rut was probably just half crouched due to using one hand to tape. Tucked down tight, elbows in and more tire pressure and I have no doubt he could have seen another 2-3 mph. Doesn't matter though 79 or 82...it is too dang fast on these things. IMO anything over about 50 is very risky. Try avoiding a vehicle, animal ect at 55 mph on tires with 5psi..
I've had mine above 50 maybe twice.
But hey,they are big boys.
