Default Thinking about purchase of new 850XP

First new to this forum and am very impressed with all the posts. Am looking forward to being a member. I am thinking about upgrading from my 2005 Sportsman 700 to the new 850xp. Before I spend the big bucks I want to know what all of you that have one so far think about them. Any comments good or bad are welcome. Also does anybody know if the glacier plow bracket from 2005 will fit the new 850xp? Thanks for your help!!!

Welcome to the site!
Have you ridden the 850 yet? If not go ride one...if you are even thinking about buying one about 5 minutes on it will seal the deal. As DCT said there are alot threads and posts on the XPs.
I love mine!
The XP requires a different Plow mount.

Thanks for the info. Haven't ridden one yet but will do that also. Hopefully the plow will fit so I only have to buy a new mount. I have the Glacier II plow frame. Do you know if that will the new XP plow mount? Thanks

SPM340,

I'm pretty sure the plow will connect right up to the mount on the XP. Check with your dealer to be sure.

HO is right... take one for a ride, and you'll be hooked. I took one for a ride at my dealer... and I've been wanting one since. Got to get some use out of the new 500 first. Maybe next year. I'm hoping for a 650/700 twin XP in the near future. The 850 is incredibly powerful... much more than I need.

Don't know how long I can hold out though... LOL LOL

The PurePolaris website lists a different Glacier II mount and frame for the XP..
Frame #2876594
Mount Plate# 2876593

Wow... that would really suck if he can't use his existing plow.

I wonder if he can at least use the plow "blade"?

Welcome to the forum! Lots of great people and info on here!! Like was said before, once you take it for a short test drive, you'll be signing the papers to bring it home. It is truely an amazing machine, once you get on it, you won't be able to wipe the smile off your face!!!!

Yea rancher55... unfortunately, the plow frame is very expensive. Got to give Polaris credit... they found a way to gobble up even more money... I hate manufacturers... all of them!!!!!!!! (I do like some of their products though LOL)
