Plow with a Scrambler 400? YES!!!
I'm not sure about the long term drawbacks, but it felt really nice. No belt slippage.
When I tried to push 8" of wet snow with 10" drifts up a hill with no running start....i did slip and slide lift and right and couldnt make a straight pass. But with a little momentum it was cake. Then, once I cleared the first pass, it was simple....used a 48" blade and took 3/4 blade worth each time
I got a cycle country 48 with manual for 450 and cant say i wish i had anything else.I did 4 driveways in 40 minutes...all 100+ ft long, 3 of them double wide
I was able to make some killer piles of snow too... 4+ ft
The other advantage of a switchable 4x4 is the ability to go into 2wd and bust a donut in tight quarters...like a single wide driveway
