Default Rider Safety Class

I know I read that a couple of guys have taken the rider safety classes and I had a few questions. How long of a class was it? Is it just videos, and paperwork or do you take your quad and practice? Did you get $100 gift certificate, was it more or less, and is it towards anything at Polaris? The kid I talked to on the phone couldnt answer any of my questions. You know how companys train these days, and I was surprised he spoke English. At least Polaris is keeping some American people employed which is not the norm these days. Thanks for any help you guys could give me!

Yea, I got a call from them before Christmas and I
scheduled a tentative for after February. I was wondering
all the same. But I don't think its anywhere local and I'm
not going to drive to another state for the $100 gift cert.

But like you what do they really cover? I was remotely interested
as I bought the one for the wife and figured we could do together
but now with her selling her quad, no more interest other then
a freebie!

Ohh and it was an American/English speaking person who
called my house, LOL.

Regards,

R'

I took the class a couple of weeks ago. It was a fairly detailed course and covered riding safty, how to manuver your ATV, and of course the enviromental issues that riders should be aware of.
The class lasted for 4 hrs. and involved about 2.5- 3 hrs of riding your ATV.
It was fairly informative but nothing really new.
If you don't take the class Polaris gets to keep the $100.00 as profit!
You paid for it with your puchase of the ATV, so IMO you may as well get it back!LOL!

I have been getting calls from Motorcycle Safe 949-255-5979. If I don't answer my home phone it goes to my cell. There is a slight pause before the cell rings. Then my cell only rings once before they hang up and I can't answer it quick enough. I took the course 4 years ago when I bought my King Quad. From the web site for the "ATV Saftey Institue" the closest one is almost 2 hours away. I did not know you could get the $100. It would be great to go somewhere you could take the course in the morning, then ride the rest of the day. I would not got to one if the had it in some parking lot. Driving 2 hours to ride in a parking lot would not be worth $100.

Like rancher sed you are probably not going to get anything new from the class..however it gave me some things to consider when riding, safety wise. I was on the quad the whole time. Some instructional type stuff then practice going through some obstacle courses. Then for about the last hour or so we just went for a trail ride. I thought it was a decent class. The 100 $ was good at the dealer where I bought the quad. I got some gloves, oil, other fluids and filters..what the heck if it's free it's for me. The class was only about 15 mins from my house too...so that helped. Overall, I think it's worth it.

Out of curiosity, do you remember the number they called you from? I got a call from a (303) area code the other day but they didnt leave a message....figured it might be about that class.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna get my wife and I signed up. The kid told me I qualified for 3 but I probably will only get the 200 unless I can talk a buddy into going too. I figured I wouldnt learn anything I havent already learned the hard way but I'm sure my wife will and I'll do anything for a couple bucks especially for my quad. I'm gonna check out the motorcycle safety site and see when I can get scheduled. Thanks again.

Edit: Search for classes near you...

If I had to guess I'd say it is one of those work from home jobs for the people making the calls...at least that is the impression I got from the guys that have called me..trust me they will call you again
