Default Knock Knock

Hi there, new to the forum, lots of good stuff in here. I'm new to the polaris brand and love it! Just bought a 02 325 magnum 4x4 and it runs great but once I got it the garage I noticed at low idle I can hear kinda of a dull knocking/pinging sound from the engine. As I increase the rpm's in nutreul the sound seems to speed up then blend in to engine noise. Is this normal with the polaris? I thought maybe somthing was loose underneith and was vibrating but I can't find anything.

Try a little Lucas oil (upper cylinder lubrication) in your gas or you could try Seafoam gas additive. Both work well. You can get both at Wally World.
Some of the gas you get now days is pretty crappy IMO!

The 3 things that cause the knock are bad primary clutch buttons, weak pull start spring,or on the 325 a crank bearing going bad.
To check the clutch pull it off and start it up if the noise quits rebuild the clutch.Pull starter use a wooden handle or mechanics stethoscope and listen to the recoil cover. The rod will be harder to isolate.
Good luck

Is there an easy way to pull it off? Do I need to purchase any special tools?

Is there a part number for the puller? I'm assuming it's specific to primaries.

We have an '00 325 Magnum. We bought it new, and I've not noticed any odd noises from day one. Sorry I can't be of more help...
