BUT since I brought it to their attention they are going to look at either 1) making the cutout for the filter optional,in other words you can order it without the cutout..or 2) Possibly putting a removable plate over it. The gentleman I talked to said that it is a 2 piece skid and pulling the piece to get to the oil filter would take "2 minutes" if they aren't able to come up with a removable panel.</end quote></div>
Taking a couple of minutes to take off the skid would bother me at all... knowing that everything is well protected would be really nice.
Keep after them HO. [IMG][/IMG]</end quote></div>
Just got off the phone with Ricochet again...they went back and looked at it and they are going to do a removable plate over the oil filter. It will require drilling 2 small holes in the stock metal around the stock access hole, you'll then install automotive style clip nuts(not sure of the technical term, lol) to screw the plate to....drilling the 2 holes is not a big deal at all to me..
It will be one of those things you can install it or not, your choice...
Also they are going to try to get some pics of the skids on the website tonight..obviously the plate won't be shown yet.

I just wonder how they mount. That is usually the deciding factor between AP and Ricochet
With these both available soon....people can ride hard in their back yards without worrying about any sticks. LOL [IMG][/IMG]</end quote></div>
And heck with these skids you can even run over your mailbox and likely get no damage!! lol
Call Ricochet...I'm sure they can tell you how theirs mount
Edit-I have a good idea how these mount...but it'd be better if you could call and get us the straight scoop?

I do see one thing I'm not too crazy about..the transition from the main skid to the footwell skids forms a sharp edged forward facing V..
Anyone else see that as a possible problem?
Looks like it would gather and snag brush there, and maybe even small saplings...
Looks like an easy fix, they just need to extend the front of the footwell guard closer to the main skid.
Maybe I'm being too picky? lol

Good eye HO, and I agree.
Skids are really good at "holding junk" on your machine no matter what, but that does look like it will catch alot of weeds and twigs.
Also, have any of you found a really good spot to jack these machines up off the ground? The skids may present that problem also with a regular floor jack and covering everything so much. Glad I have an atv jack.
